What a beautiful sight this morning, a Peacock Butterfly sunning himself. There was plenty of time to fetch the camera and get a good shot before he flew off. They live on nettles, I have few down one corner of the garden, it is worth leaving a few for nature.

Next I turned my attention to the compost heap, I shall be using it all and stating a new one now. First I removed the top, new material which will go to the bottom of the new heap.
It was nice to see the Brandling Worms active even among the latest additions, the banana skins still yellow, the orange skin orange and the cabbage leaves green.

Next came the not finished layer about 100mm thick more worms than anything else.

Finally a 'bit of good stuff' about a cubic meter of what it is all about.

Wow what a wonderful picture - a real sign of Spring. I have no shortage of Nettles but no butterflies here in Wiltshire that I have seen yet.
