Growth continues well with the Fuchsias in the conservatory. The one that I am aiming to make a standard from had really progressed despite the lack of light and warmth.
Note the imbalance in the three shoots at the top. Previously I mentioned that there would be 6 leaves, I knew that the triploid sporting would stop at the point of termination. Next phase will be another 3dB gain, 12 leaves.
I watched the development of the imbalance and pondered whether to pinch out the weaker one first and so give it a lead on the stronger ones or whether to stop the stronger first to let the weaker one bulk up. Finally I pinched them all back at the same time, we will see what happens. Maybe it will balance up later, a standard with an imbalanced head is not a show bench winner.
